How to Install
Step by step guide to installing RedPhish on Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.

To use RedPhish, you need:
- A supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge)
- A RedPhish account (you can create one during setup)
Installing on Chrome
- Open the Chrome Web Store
- Search for "RedPhish" or use the direct link from redphish.app
- Click "Add to Chrome"
- Confirm by clicking "Add extension" in the popup
- The RedPhish icon appears in your browser toolbar
Installing on Firefox
- Open Firefox Add-ons
- Search for "RedPhish" or use the direct link from redphish.app
- Click "Add to Firefox"
- Confirm the permissions and click "Add"
- The RedPhish icon appears in your browser toolbar
Installing on Edge
- Open the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store
- Search for "RedPhish"
- Click "Get" and then "Add extension"
- The RedPhish icon appears in your browser toolbar
Setting Up Your Account
After installing the extension:
- Click the RedPhish icon in your toolbar
- Click "Sign In" or "Create Account"
- You will be redirected to redphish.app to complete authentication
- After signing in, the extension automatically syncs your account
- A free trial starts automatically for new accounts
Verifying Installation
To confirm RedPhish is working:
- The toolbar icon should be red (not gray)
- Clicking the icon should show your account status and scan statistics
- Visit any website with links and you should see RedPhish scanning them
Permissions Explained
RedPhish requests these permissions:
- Read and change all your data on all websites: Required to scan links and display warnings on any page you visit
- Storage: To cache scan results locally and store your settings
- Alarms: For background tasks that keep protection running smoothly
RedPhish does not collect or transmit your browsing history. Only URLs of links being scanned are sent to our servers, and no logs are retained.
Troubleshooting Installation
Extension Does Not Appear
- Click the puzzle piece icon (Extensions menu) in your toolbar
- Find RedPhish and click the pin icon to keep it visible
Cannot Sign In
- Make sure you are connected to the internet
- Try signing in directly at redphish.app, then click the extension icon
- Clear your browser cookies for redphish.app and try again
Icon Is Gray
A gray icon means protection is not active. This can happen if:
- You are not signed in
- Your subscription has expired
- You have exceeded your scan quota
Click the icon to see your current status and resolve the issue.
